My offer
‘I don’t read the script. The script reads me.’
Kirk Lazarus, Tropic Thunder
Writing
I have written several screenplays and pride myself in creating interesting and involving storylines [LINK to My Scripts] I aim to make sure the worlds and characters that I create feel real and they have realistic dialogue.
Script Doctoring
I am open to looking at someone else’s work, reading it in detail and giving feedback and advice on aspects they may wish to polish or change. If required I can offer edits, to help them achieve the goal. I am open to providing further constructive feedback.
I am currently working on a script with a new collaborator and which is very exciting – and hope to share news of it with you soon.
Editing
I learned numerous editing techniques at university and have been working on social media videos for a global magazine’s various feeds. My aim is to deliver a professional edit that fits the mood, run length and goal of the client’s video.
Camera Operation
I am looking for opportunities to use skills operating small and large-scale camera equipment that I acquired at university. One of the reasons I have been developing my own scripts is to provide opportunities to produce creative B-roll, using my own HD-capable camera.
Sound Recording
Another skill I learned at university was in how to operate sound recording equipment on different scales and sizes, in order to record and achieve a good sound quality for a project. Again I intend to experiment in this area as my script projects.
Foley Audio
Creating and recording Foley audio to be used in a project is another objective, again building on what I learned at university.
Team Work is Key
‘As Mr. Sloan always says, there is no “I” in team, but there is an “I” in pie. And there’s an “I” in meat pie. Anagram of meat is team.’
Shaun in ‘Shaun of the Dead’
In my daily working life since university I have established myself a someone who can work well in teams, sometimes leading them under pressure. I am willing to take on tasks that may otherwise be outside my comfort zone. I know how to adapt to a new situation and role quickly.
I am good time-keeper, with a reputation for reliability who never quails when asked to do things that may be difficult to handle, while remaining professional and composed. I aim to be helpful, informative and in good spirits despite long hours and occasionally dealing with difficult people.
In tandem with my day-to-day job, I collaborate with people worldwide via the internet, in a remote role as part of a team. This involves live commentary, digital character design, scenarios and storylines for content.
